Job Title: Teaching Assistant - PMLD (Special Needs School)
Location: Lambeth, South London
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay: £100 - £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025

A specialist SEN school in Lambeth is looking for a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Students may have complex medical needs, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and require personal care and one-to-one support throughout the day.

This is a hands-on and rewarding role, ideal for candidates with experience in care, SEN, or healthcare support.

• Support students with PMLD in the classroom and during personal care routines

• Assist with feeding, mobility, and hygiene (including hoisting and toileting - training provided)

• Work closely with teachers and therapists to follow EHCP targets

• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for learning

• Use specialist equipment and communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, switches)

• Experience supporting children or young adults with PMLD or complex needs

• Comfortable providing personal care and physical support

• Calm, patient, and resilient with a genuine passion for SEN education

• Manual handling and safeguarding training is an advantage (can be provided)
