Teaching Assistant - SEN Support

About the Role:
A specialist Secondary SEN School in Greenwich is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students aged 11-19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex physical needs, including those who require personal care and wheelchair assistance.

You will be part of a caring and collaborative support team committed to helping every young person thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs

• Assist students with personal care, including toileting and hygiene

• Support students with mobility and wheelchair use, including hoisting and transfers

• Help implement EHCP targets and learning plans under teacher guidance

• Promote engagement, independence, and wellbeing in all school activities

• Work closely with therapists, parents, and SEN staff

Requirements:

• Experience supporting students with PMLD or complex needs (essential)

• Comfortable providing personal care and mobility support

• Manual handling and hoist training (preferred but training can be provided)

• Calm, patient, and empathetic approach

• Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
