Job Description - Temporary Part-Time School Secretary

Our client, a welcoming and well-established school, is seeking a friendly, organised and professional School Secretary to join their administration team on a temporary, term-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service to pupils, parents, staff and visitors. As the first point of contact for the school, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the reception and administrative function.
Starting in September 2026, Until July 2027. 2 days per week (Tues & Weds: 8:30am-4pm)
Key Responsibilities
* Welcome visitors and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed.
* Answer telephone calls and respond to routine enquiries.
* Prepare correspondence, reports and general administration.
* Coordinate parent tours and professional visits.
* Communicate school information to parents and staff using Arbor.
* Record daily pupil attendance.
* Support the administration of school trips and events.
* Maintain pupil records and undertake general administrative duties.
Key attributes
* Previous administration or reception experience, ideally within a school.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Confident using Microsoft Office (experience with Arbor is desirable).
* Professional, approachable and able to maintain confidentiality.
* A flexible, proactive approach and commitment to safeguarding.
