Year End Accountant

Job Title: Year-End Accountant
Location: Bristol – Hybrid – 3 days on site
Job Type: Full-Time – 3 month contract initially
Reports To: Financial Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Year-End Accountant to support the finance team in preparing and finalizing annual financial statements. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, assist with audits, and provide accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review year-end financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS & UK GAAP).
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
• Assist in the preparation of corporation tax returns and other statutory filings.
• Analyse financial data and variances to support year-end reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Support the finance team with ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.

Qualifications:

• Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
• Proven experience in year-end accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred:

• Experience working in a practice or multi-client environment.
• Familiarity with audit processes and tax compliance.
• Experience with SORP
