Youth Engagement Worker

Working Pattern: Flexible, including evenings and possible weekends

As a Youth Engagement Worker, you will assist in delivering engaging sessions and activities for children and young people across the city. Your role is to build positive relationships, promote youth participation, and connect young people with relevant support services. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups.

• Lead and support youth sessions to promote personal and social development.
• Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with young people.
• Encourage participation and give young people a voice in decision-making.
• Monitor and evaluate youth engagement activities.
• Complete administrative tasks (e.g., session planning, attendance, risk assessments).
• Collaborate with local groups and partners to enhance youth services.
• Secure venues after sessions.

• Experience delivering face-to-face youth sessions.
• Ability to build rapport with children and young people.
• Team player with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Awareness of safeguarding and confidentiality.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• Experience in planning and evaluating youth activities.
• Able to travel independently across Doncaster.
• Flexible availability for evening work.

• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., youth work).
• Safeguarding Level 3 certificate.
• First Aid training.
• Experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
