Project Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support manufacturing and equipment modification activities within a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This role will be responsible for coordinating and executing engineering projects related to equipment relocation, testing, and validation readiness for the Insulin manufacturing line. The Project Engineer will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Automation, and Facilities teams to ensure projects are completed safely, compliantly, and on schedule.

Project Engineer Responsibilities:

• Support engineering activities related to autoclavable stopper arm implementation and offline stopper test station installation and testing


• Lead and support the NVPM relocation project (Area 105B – Insulin Line), including equipment relocation, reinstallation, and functional testing


• Coordinate execution of equipment modifications and process changes within GMP manufacturing areas


• Author, review, and support Change Controls in accordance with site and corporate quality systems


• Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Validation, Automation, and Maintenance teams


• Track project timelines, deliverables, risks, and dependencies to ensure on-time execution


• Support commissioning and testing activities to ensure equipment is fit for intended use


• Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and regulatory requirements throughout project execution


• Participate in project meetings, document action items, and provide clear status updates to stakeholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline)


• 2–5 years of engineering experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment


• Hands-on experience supporting equipment modifications, relocations, or testing activities


• Working knowledge of Change Control processes in a GMP environment


• Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional activities and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders


• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment used in sterile or insulin production environments preferred


• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy


• Onsite requirement in Indianapolis, IN
