Locations: Davis Monthan Air Forces Base (DMAFB), AZ; Tucson, AZ; Phoenix, AZ; and San Diego, CA 

Dates: Multiple Courses per year

We are seeking Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide training support on Close Air Support (CAS) and Call For Fire (CFF) skills for a formal course conducting full mission profiles in both Land and Maritime environments. This is a temporary contract position aligned with the course schedule and locations throughout the year. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Air Boss will be responsible for simulating required scenario aircraft, leading air-to-ground radio communications, and providing scenario injects per the government.

The Air Boss will ensure effective communication with students and live aircraft during scenarios, driving the flow of the Government-directed Land Full Mission Profiles (FMPs) scenario from start to completion.

The Air Boss will also provide debrief points post-FMP.

Required to perform duties on an approved military contracted vessel for up to 54 continuous hours during certain scenarios.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience serving as a JTAC, TACP, or Combat Controller.
• Previously qualified as a JTAC Instructor or JTAC Evaluator.
• Eligible for a SECRET Clearance.
• Documented combat experience as a JTAC in Special Operations Forces with expertise in the Tactics, Techniques and Procedures for Ground Assault Force, Helicopter Assault Force, and Boat Assault Force.
• Experience as a High-Risk Training Safety Officer (TSO) and/or Range Safety Officer (RSO), with a full understanding of all risks, safety considerations, and contingencies related to conducting high-risk training. This includes knowing the proper use of RPs in scenarios and what controls need to be implemented for the safety of everyone at a training site.
• Be physically fit, with no limitations that would prohibit working (12)-hr. days, day, or night, in austere environments, or in harsh weather. Must be able to swim 200-meters nonstop within 15 minutes in open seas.
