POSITION SUMMARY: MLS has a requirement for an experienced Us-based Akan language instructor to join a short-term (2-week) program in Accra, Ghana in June/July 2025. The candidate will serve as an instructor and an onsite coordinator for the program.  All expenses (Lodging, Airfare, and M&I) will be paid for.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide classroom instruction in the target language to a group of native adult learners on topics assigned according to program requirements.
• Assist with program planning and coordination.
• Facilitate cultural activities.
• Serve as the on-site coordinator and provide daily updates on program execution to the MLS team

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience instructing adult learners.
• Experience developing instructional materials.
• Native proficiency in the target language (Akan).
• Native knowledge of the culture and current events.
• Local in Accra, Ghana.
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiar with program planning and coordination.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The position requires the candidate to stand for prolonged periods of time and participate in program-related activities.
