Job Description - Application Architect (.NET)

Job Location: Dimondale, MI (Hybrid)

Note: Only local Michigan candidates with State-issued ID or Driver’s License will be considered. 15+ years of experience required.
• Each candidate must submit a government-issued ID (Driver’s License or Passport) and provide three professional references (names, official emails, and phone numbers).

Job Description:

The State of Michigan is seeking an experienced Application Architect (.NET) for a hybrid role based in Dimondale. This position requires strong expertise in .NET technologies, architecture leadership, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a government setting. The selected candidate must attend in-person interviews and work onsite as required.

Specialty Areas:
Application Architecture & Design – Leading architecture for enterprise-grade web applications built using .NET and React.
Modern Web Development – Proficiency in React, TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and security protocols.
Database Management – Expertise in SQL Server, performance tuning, and complex query development.
Testing & DevOps – Hands-on experience with automated testing and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Accessibility & Compliance – Knowledge of ADA and WCAG 2.1 standards for inclusive and compliant application design.
Responsibilities:
• Architect, design, and implement scalable web applications using .NET Core, React, and SQL Server.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and define technical solutions.
• Lead development teams and ensure adherence to architectural best practices.
• Review and optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs with modern authentication standards (OAuth2, OpenID Connect).
• Ensure ADA and WCAG 2.1 compliance across all deliverables.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Implement automated unit, integration, and system testing using ADO and related tools.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and manage work items in Azure DevOps.

Mandatory Requirements:
