Job Description

Summary

The Aqua Fitness Instructor is responsible for conducting a safe and effective aqua exercise class(es) for the Morton Grove Park District. This is a seasonal, part-time, non-exempt position.

Qualifications

CPR/AED and First Aid is required but will Train. Prior experience is preferred.

Supervisor

The Aqua Group Exercise Instructor reports to the Recreation Supervisor.

Essential Functions

1. Responsible for creating class format in which include cardio and strength workouts.


2. Current nationally accredited Group Exercise Instructor (AEA, ACE, or AFAA) with aqua/water aerobics experience, OR certified aqua/water aerobics certification.


3. Delivering an efficient and fun workout while monitoring class safety.


4. Positive and enthusiastic energy.
   Demonstrate accountability to schedule by avoiding missed classes.


5. Provide a fun and engaging experience for the participants.


6. The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to hours and work schedules. 

Environmental Considerations:

1. Classes are performed outside. These conditions include possible high temperatures, humidity and exposure to sunlight for extended periods of time

Cognitive Considerations:

1. Must possess good safety awareness and judgment.


2. Must be friendly and like to work with people of all ages.

Safety Responsibilities:

1. Worker must be able to follow direction from supervisor or with safe and effective follow through.


2. Worker must be able to use good safety and awareness and judgment.


3. Worker must be able to participate in safety related training as required.

Salary Range                                                                                  $30-$40 Per Class
