Assistant Golf Professional (Seasonal)

Description

The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Head Golf Professional in providing exceptional service to members and guests, overseeing daily golf operations, and delivering a premier golf experience at La Gorce Country Club. This role includes managing tee times, supervising outside services, providing golf instruction, running tournaments, and promoting the game of golf in alignment with the club's standards of excellence.

This is a seasonal position for the upcoming season from October through May. Ideally, the selected candidate will begin in early to mid-October 2025 and continue through mid-May 2026. Exact start and end dates are flexible for the right candidate.

Requirements

• Provide outstanding customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for all members and guests.

• Assist in managing the golf shop, including merchandise sales, inventory control, and daily cash reconciliation.

• Schedule and coordinate tee times and monitor pace of play to ensure an enjoyable experience.

• Administer and assist with member and corporate golf events, leagues, and tournaments.

• Offer individual and group golf instruction and clinics for members of all skill levels.

• Supervise and train outside service staff including bag room, cart barn, and practice range operations.

• Ensure golf carts are maintained, cleaned, and properly staged for play.

• Maintain a high level of professionalism, appearance, and conduct at all times.

• Promote golf programs and services offered at the club.

• Enforce all club policies, rules, and procedures relating to golf operations.

• Stay current with USGA rules, PGA guidelines, and industry best practices.

• Support the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf with additional responsibilities as needed.

Experience Required

• PGA Associate or PGA Member in good standing (preferred or in progress).

• 1-3 years of experience in golf operations or as an Assistant Golf Professional.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong knowledge of golf rules, equipment, and tournament formats.

• Proficiency with POS systems and golf software (e.g., ForeTees, Golf Genius).

• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.

• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Additional Income

• 100% of lesson/clinic income.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
