Job Description - Assistant Horseman's Bookkeeper

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains accounts for all money owing to horsemen in regards to purses, stakes, claims and deposits.
Provide that all portions of purse money be available to earners within forty-eight hours after the results of the race is declared official.
Post racing results, set up and maintain client accounts, issue checks and statements, maintain accurate tax identification records, administer purse redistributions and other requests as needed.
Interact with Finance Controller, Accounting Manager, G/L team and Bank to maintain a stable operating environment.
Promotes outstanding customer relations. This includes email, telephone and personal interaction with customers visiting the bookkeeper’s office on a daily basis.
Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Extensive horsemen bookkeeping experience required. Incompass system experience preferred
Knowledge of the horseracing industry required. Industry employment experience of 3+ years preferred
Established knowledge and capability to operate in Microsoft environment including Outlook and Excel,
Position is full time seasonal.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, weekends and holidays as required
