Athletic Coach - High School Softball

Christian Academy of Knoxville is seeking a Christ-centered leader to serve as High School Head Softball Coach and oversee the comprehensive development of its softball program. This role encompasses more than athletic instruction—it requires intentional mentorship, spiritual guidance, and administrative excellence. The coach will lead all aspects of program management, including scheduling, travel logistics, budget oversight, and parent engagement, while upholding the highest standards of conduct and fully embodying CAK’s athletic mission and biblical core values both on and off the field.

• Provide appropriate training, discipline, and coaching that leads to a highly competitive program; evaluate individual student-athletes and develop a coaching plan that helps them reach their full potential.
• Work closely with high school and middle school coaches to build the program and develop coaching plans.
• Develop individual and team skills through well-planned training and positive reinforcement.
• Communicate proactively with student-athletes and parents/guardians as appropriate regarding expectations, camps, practices, and game schedules.
• Supervise student-athletes before and after practices/games.
• Supervise all areas of participation, including but not limited to gyms, fields, arenas, theater, locker or dressing rooms, buses, etc.
• Issue equipment and uniforms to student athletes, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and uniforms are returned in good condition.
• Attend all games (both home and away) continuing through the conclusion of any post-season tournament(s).
• Set up facilities in preparation for practice, games, and events.
• Conduct pre-season conditioning and practices.
• May be asked to operate school vehicle to games/events.
• Attend all professional development and coach meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director.
• Ability to exercise discretion and utmost professionalism in confidential and sensitive student/family matters.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• CPR, AED, First Aid certification. 
• Maintains compliance with all rules and regulations of the TSSAA
• Complies with and supports all CAK policies.

The Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) coach must be a spiritually sensitive individual who understands the school's mission and philosophy. The coach must also be a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity and the academic and leadership abilities necessary to teach God’s truth. Skills in effective communication with diverse individuals, the ability to handle confidential information appropriately, and maintaining a courteous, professional, and respectful attitude and integrity in all situations are prerequisites.
