Athletic Coach - Middle School Softball

Christian Academy of Knoxville seeks a dynamic and mission-aligned Middle School Head Softball Coach to lead all aspects of its softball program. This role requires a faithful mentor and strategic leader who will disciple student-athletes, cultivate Christ-centered character, and promote excellence both on and off the field. The coach will oversee scheduling, budget management, travel coordination, and parent engagement, all while upholding the highest standards of conduct and reflecting CAK’s athletic mission and biblical core values.

• Provide appropriate training, discipline, and coaching that leads to a highly competitive program; evaluate individual student-athletes and develop a coaching plan that helps them reach their full potential.
• Work closely with high school and middle school coaches to build the program and develop coaching plans.
• Develop individual and team skills through well-planned training and positive reinforcement.
• Communicate proactively with student-athletes and parents/guardians as appropriate regarding expectations, camps, practices, and game schedules.
• Supervise student-athletes before and after practices/games.
• Supervise all areas of participation, including but not limited to gyms, fields, arenas, theater, locker or dressing rooms, buses, etc.
• Issue equipment and uniforms to student athletes, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and uniforms are returned.
• Attend all games (both home and away) continuing through the conclusion of any post-season tournament(s).
• Set up facilities in preparation for practice, games, and events.
• Conduct pre-season conditioning and practices.
• May be asked to operate school vehicle to games/events.
• Attend all professional development and coach meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director.
• Ability to exercise discretion and utmost professionalism in confidential and sensitive student/family matters.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• CPR, AED, First Aid certification. 
• Maintains compliance with all rules and regulations of the TSSAA
• Complies with and supports all CAK policies.

The Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) coach must be a spiritually sensitive individual who understands the school's mission and philosophy. The coach must also be a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity and the academic and leadership abilities necessary to teach God’s truth. Skills in effective communication with diverse individuals, the ability to handle confidential information appropriately, and maintaining a courteous, professional, and respectful attitude and integrity in all situations are prerequisites.
