Position Title: Audio Electronics Technician (Active Top Secret Clearance)
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Audio Electronics Technician to join our team to maintain, repair, and optimize audio equipment and electronic systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in audio electronics, troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality sound solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair audio equipment including amplifiers, mixers, speakers, microphones, and recording devices
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of audio systems to ensure optimal performance
Replace defective components and parts using appropriate tools and techniques
Maintain detailed service logs and repair documentation
System Installation & Setup
Install and configure audio systems for various applications including live events, studios, and commercial installations
Wire and connect audio equipment according to technical specifications and safety standards
Test system functionality and make necessary adjustments for optimal audio quality
Collaborate with engineers and other technicians on complex installations
Technical Support & Quality Assurance
Provide technical support to end users and clients regarding equipment operation
Conduct quality control inspections on repaired and newly installed equipment
Stay current with emerging audio technologies and industry best practices
Assist in equipment procurement recommendations and specifications
Safety & Compliance
Adhere to all safety protocols and electrical codes when working with audio equipment
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Follow company policies and procedures for equipment handling and documentation
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
Must have an active Top Secret clearance and ability to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.
Associate degree in Electronics, Audio Engineering, or related technical field, OR
Equivalent combination of technical training and hands-on experience
Industry certifications preferred (CTS, InfoComm, manufacturer-specific certifications)
Technical Skills
2+ years of experience in audio electronics repair and maintenance
Proficiency with electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators
Strong understanding of analog and digital audio circuits
Knowledge of audio signal flow, impedance matching, and acoustics principles
Experience with soldering and component-level repair
Familiarity with audio software and digital audio workstations
Core Competencies
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and service manuals
Effective communication skills for client interaction and documentation
Physical ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds and work in various environments
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Audio Engineering or equivalent years of experience.
Experience with live sound reinforcement systems
Knowledge of networking protocols for digital audio systems
Familiarity with RF systems and wireless audio equipment
Previous experience in recording studio or broadcast environments
