Requirements:
• Master’s or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
• Active Texas licensure as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP).
• Fluency in both English and Spanish (oral and written).
• Expertise in bilingual psychoeducational assessment and interpretation.
• Familiarity with cultural, linguistic, and educational considerations for English Language Learners (ELLs).
• Experience in conducting Full and Individual Evaluations (FIEs) for multilingual learners.
• Understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and IEP/ARD processes.
• Experience in Texas school settings preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct culturally and linguistically appropriate evaluations for bilingual (English/Spanish) students to determine eligibility for special education and related services.
• Utilize standardized and non-standardized tools designed for or appropriate to bilingual populations.
• Prepare comprehensive psychoeducational reports that clearly separate language difference from disability.
• Provide bilingual counseling and mental health services as specified in IEPs.
• Participate in ARD and Section 504 meetings, interpreting results for families and staff in English and Spanish.
• Support development and implementation of individualized behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and functional behavior assessments (FBAs).
• Serve as a resource on bilingual and bicultural mental health concerns within the school setting.
• Maintain timely documentation in accordance with local, state, and federal standards.
• Collaborate with educators, intervention teams, and families to ensure culturally relevant support strategies are in place.
• Perform other related duties within the scope of school psychology practice as assigned.
