Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
• Active Texas License in Speech-Language Pathology
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred
• Fluency in both English and Spanish (oral and written)
• Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations
• Knowledge of bilingual assessment tools and procedures
• Familiarity with IDEA, ESL programming, and special education requirements in school settings
• Ability to interpret and deliver services in Spanish when needed
• Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) preferred
Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive bilingual speech-language evaluations using culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate tools.
• Provide speech-language therapy aligned with students’ IEPs, using service delivery models suitable for multilingual learners.
• Monitor and document progress toward IEP goals, adjusting interventions based on language development and data.
• Participate in IEP and ARD meetings, offering input on bilingual students’ needs, eligibility, and placement.
• Differentiate language difference from disorder in evaluations and treatment planning.
• Use interpretation and translation skills to communicate effectively with families and school staff.
• Collaborate with educators, ESL teachers, and specialists to enhance students' educational access.
• Utilize assistive and augmentative communication systems when appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and district documentation standards, including Medicaid billing where applicable.
• Participate in professional development and training relevant to bilingual and multicultural service delivery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
