Job Description - Business Administrative Technology Adjunct


Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as an adjunct technical instructor for Business Management.  Under general supervision, this individual will prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction; evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals, objectives, and student learning outcomes.  Further requirements include student retention, and student recruitment.  This position requires day, night, evening, and on-line instruction.  This position is part-time/exempt.

Please note the following information regarding this position:

  1. May be required to teach high school students
  2. May require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County)
  3. May require travel

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers effective individualized program and instruction to class members
  • Ensures adherence to technical college and safety requirements in classrooms and labs by following established procedures
  • Selects and obtains appropriate educational materials for courses
  • Ensures consistency in syllabi, lesson plans, test, and other appropriate course work
  • Monitors use of and maintains supplies, equipment and/or facilities for assigned program.
  • Assists with recruiting and marketing activities
  • Assists with the design and execution of special events, projects, and activities as requested
  • Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • A Master’s Degree in Business Management or Business Administration with a minimum of 18 graduate semester or 27 graduate quarter hours in Business Management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with instruction in a postsecondary setting and experience with learning management systems.
  • Experience with analyzing student learning outcomes and course data. 

Salary/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with experience. Part-time, no benefits.
