Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter with a strong background in architectural and residential design to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing precise technical drawings and plans based on project specifications, architectural designs, and building codes. This role requires proficiency in CAD software, a deep understanding of residential construction standards, and the ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to bring design concepts to life. This is a 6 month contract to hire.
Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, and maintain architectural drawings and plans for residential projects using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Interpret architectural sketches, specifications, and field notes into accurate technical drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, designers, engineers, and contractors to resolve design discrepancies and ensure constructability.
- Maintain organized drawing files, documentation, and revision logs.
- Assist in the preparation of permit and construction documents.
- Update and revise drawings based on redlines, field changes, and client feedback.
- Provide design support during all phases of residential projects, from concept to construction.
$20 - $30 an hour
