Job Description - CAD Specialist - COA

Description

About the Position:

The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Specialist is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and documentation to support the design and execution of construction and facility projects. Working closely with engineers and project managers, this role ensures accurate, high-quality drawings that align with project specifications and industry standards. The CAD Technician plays a key role in maintaining GoldenWolf’s commitment to precision and excellence.  This position is located at the Guthrie Army Health Clinic (GAHC), Fort Drum.

Essential Functions:

  • The CADD Specialist must have a working knowledge of the medical design criteria, The Joint Commission requirements, the Uniform Facility Criteria (UFCs), and Federal Building Code requirements.
  • Develops and provides the scope of work for blueprint renderings, review of renderings, and provides independent cost estimates, when required. Reviews documents for building and joint commission code compliance; reviews as-built drawings.
  • Develop and update technical drawings using CAD software to support project designs. 
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of drawings. 
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on design specifications and project requirements. 
  • Review and revise drawings to incorporate feedback from project stakeholders. 
  • Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, client requirements, and industry regulations. 
  • Assist in preparing project documentation, including schematics, blueprints, and as-built drawings. 
  • Provide technical support to project teams regarding drawing interpretations and modifications. 
  • Develop Scopes of Work.
  • Develop independent cost estimates.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or certification in CAD, drafting, or a related field preferred. 
  • One to three years of experience in CAD drafting or a related role. 
  • Familiarity with construction or engineering documentation standards. 
  • Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and technologies. 

Required Competencies and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar). 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawing creation. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • An understanding of construction processes and design principles.
