Camp Greendale Integration Specialist (Summer Seasonal)

Under the supervision of the Camp Director, the Camp Greendale Integration Specialist supports youth participants participating in camp by implementing developmentally appropriate behavioral management strategies geared to the unique needs of each child in his/her care/program. 

Job Duties:

• Works collaboratively with staff to ensure we are providing supports in ensure all children can be included in a group setting. 
• Follow all policies, procedures, and standards as established by the law, the YMCA, all MA Departments of EE&C regulations; maintains the program site, equipment; and required program records
• Nurtures children through purposeful individual support plans that are communicated with families and staff. 
• Creates a positive rapport and shared interest with youth; models relationship-building skills in all interactions
• Provides and welcomes ongoing dialogue with parents and caregivers about their child's needs and progress; connects families to the Y. 
• Project a professional image, including a neat appearance, a positive manner and dependable attendance and be a role model for children families, and other staff. 
• Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff trainings. 
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred
• Previous experience working with children (at least 6 months) required 
• Must be at least 18 years old
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required; or within 60 days of hire
• Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire 
• Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred 
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds

Schedule: Shifts occur Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm with occasional evenings and weekends for meetings/trainings. 

Job Type: Summer Seasonal, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 per hour. Plus, access to YMCA facilities for all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave
