Just two hours South of Anchorage, our camp is located on the beautiful Kenai Peninsula. If you want to build an inclusive and loving community at our camp, this is a perfect job for you! PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Waterfront Core Counselor plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, growth, and enjoyment of campers through both cabin leadership and the Camp K Aquatics Program. In this role, you’ll provide 24-hour supervision and guidance to a cabin group of campers, working closely with fellow counselors and support staff to deliver a variety of engaging camp activities.
In addition to cabin responsibilities, you’ll lead and oversee all lakeside and aquatic programs on Kenai Lake, including canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and water safety and survival skills. You’ll also perform lifeguarding duties and supervise camp lifeguards during aquatic activities to maintain the highest standards of safety and instruction at the waterfront.
This is a live-on-site summer position, offering the opportunity to be fully immersed in the camp community while working in the stunning setting of Chugach National Forest.
Through your leadership, you’ll help bring Camp Fire Alaska’s Promise to life, giving youth the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are.
