Concept Designer - Contractor

Gradient is looking for a contractor to join the team for the next few months.

Gradient is a fast-paced, creatively led experiential marketing agency based in NYC. Known for designing award-winning experiences for top-tier clients in the spirits, fashion, film, and luxury industries, we are storytellers, culture shapers, and brand partners.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Concept Designer to bring bold ideas and strong visual storytelling to our creative team. You’ll collaborate across departments to help shape the look and feel of immersive experiences for some of the world’s most exciting brands. This is a hands-on role for a proactive, detail-obsessed designer who can own projects from concept through production.

What You’ll Do

• Design high-impact creative for events, campaigns, presentations, and digital content


• Collaborate with Art Directors, Creative Directors, Experience Designers and Producers to bring ideas to life


• Develop mood boards, visual directions, and final production-ready assets


• Contribute to concepting and design development for new business pitches


• Translate brand guidelines into fresh, on-strategy visuals across print and digital


• Work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities


• Maintain high standards of design excellence and brand consistency
  
  

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience preferred


• 5+ years of experience in a design role, ideally within an agency or experiential marketing environment


• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD)


• Comfortable using AI and Google Workspace


• Strong understanding of print production, digital design, and branding
  


• Familiarity with web design, UX principles, and platforms like WIX and WordPress is a plus


• Experience designing for luxury, fashion, spirits, or entertainment brands a plus


• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management


• A compelling portfolio that demonstrates versatility, visual storytelling, and brand sensitivity
  
  

Nice to Have

• Motion graphics or video editing experience


• Experience working on site for events or activations
