Construction Inspector

About the Role

HUNT is seeking a Construction Inspector to support on-site inspection services for a variety aerial and underground utility placement projects. This role is responsible for monitoring construction activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in the field while coordinating with contractors, engineers, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections to ensure construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, and contract requirements


• Monitor contractor work for quality, safety, and adherence to project schedules


• Assure that proper maintenance of traffic operations are maintained


• Maintain daily inspection reports, field documentation, and photo records of project progress


• Review materials and construction methods to confirm compliance with project standards


• Communicate field observations, issues, and potential changes to project managers, engineers and contractor foreman’s


• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents


• Coordinate with contractors, clients, and project teams to resolve field issues

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection, construction administration, or related field work


• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, industry standards and proper maintenance of traffic/safety standards


• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Relevant certifications such as NICET, ICC, or related inspection credentials are a plus


• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
