It’s A Good Sign seeks a skilled and reliable Contract Vinyl Installer to join our team on a project-by-project basis as a 1099 contractor. In this role, you will be responsible for the professional installation of vehicle wraps of all kinds, from cars and trucks to vans and trailers, as well as window graphics. This is a hands-on position that requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The ideal contractor works well in a fast-paced team environment and can efficiently manage many projects at once
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE POSITION:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install graphics according to specifications and design requirements
- Clean, prep and install decals as well as partial and full vinyl wraps on fleet and commercial cars, pick-up trucks, SUVs, vans, box trucks, enclosed trailers, 48' and 53' trailers.
- Clean, prep and install window graphics in small and large formats.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues that may arise
- Clean installation site when work is complete
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment (e.g., lifts, ladders) as needed to ensure proper installation and functionality
- Manage installation schedule with operations team, to include coordinating equipment requirements
- Coordinate with graphic design team to ensure feasibility and installation requirements of proposed signage
- Perform quality assurance measures, pre- and post-installation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and shop
- Accurately track electronic and paper records related to jobs
- Adhere to all OSHA and company safety protocols and follow all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
- Highly professional and dependable
- Perform other duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ year of experience as a professional vinyl installer
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Able to work well under pressure to produce high-quality work
- Must be physically able to perform sign and graphic installations, which includes lifting, climbing, and working at heights greater than 10 feet
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds independently
- Able to use light power equipment
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the U.S.
PREFERRED (BUT NOT REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified installation professional (3M, Avery, etc.)
WHAT WE OFFER YOU:
While this is an independent contractor position and you will not be an employee of It’s A Good Sign, we still like to think of our vendors as part of our team and a significant part of our success. As such, we apply the same courtesy to our contractors that we afford our own employees, including:
- We pay immediately project completion through our Gusto payroll system and deliver pay within two business days of processing; in addition, we provide a 1099 at year-end
- We do our best to provide at least 48 hours’ notice of upcoming jobs, but typically longer, so you may best plan your week
- Our work hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. generally, though depending on weather or other factors, we might schedule jobs earlier or later in the day (for example, in August, we might get a start very early to avoid the heat!)
- While for most jobs we will provide transportation for the installation team from our location at 10104 E. Zacha Street in East Dallas, we do offer mileage reimbursement if the job requires you to use your personal vehicle; these decisions are made on a project-by-project basis, in cooperation with you
- Because it is our highest priority to care for our staff and contractors, we provide safety equipment to all of our installers
- We also provide water, snacks and/or meals depending on the length of a project
- In addition, we issue each installer a set of branded It’s A Good Sign clothing – polo shirt and t-shirt
