ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Starts and stops x-ray/reject machine, sleeve machine, filling machine, coder, case packer, tray packer, lid machines, and shrink tunnel machines by use of control buttons to maximize the efficiency of the cup packing operations.
- Monitors the quality of packaging material and finished products throughout the packaging process; removes defective supplies or materials from packing line operations as necessary.
- If problems occur, shuts operation down and locates source.
- Clears jams or stoppages that occur; notifies lead or maintenance mechanic of major jams, stoppages or other problems.
- Checks to see that case and product codes are correctly matched and packed.
- Monitors available packing supplies and materials at packing station and makes sure that enough supplies and material are on hand to minimize down time.
- Completes documentation of necessary reports and records regarding nut usage, weight controls, equipment functionality, date codes, and cleaning.
- Removes outgoing pallets and positions incoming pallets for loading of finished product.
- Creates license plates for inventory movement between Cup Line and Warehouse.
- Directs work of Factory Worker A assigned to the Cup Line.
- Performs related tasks as assigned.
- This position requires shift rotation.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Observes all safety and health policies/procedures.
- Notifies supervisor of any jams so equipment power sources can be deactivated, locked and tagged.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One (1) year similar work experience preferred.
- Must be computer literate to navigate processing controls.
- Must be able to use hand tools and a calculator.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Seldom: Sitting, crouching, stooping, lying, crawling, twisting, reaching overhead, pinching, gripping, climbing, squatting, kneeling, running.
- Occasional: Walking, wrist movement, repetitive motion, finger dexterity, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent: N/A.
- Constant: Standing, 20/40 vision or better, depth perception, must be able to see full field and in color.
COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:
- Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and co-workers.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, receive verbal and written instruction, and apply basic math skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Exposure to noise (85+ dB).
- Exposure to cold (up to 65 degrees F).
- May work at heights above 3 ft.
- Exposure to electrical hazards.
