Job Description - Data Engineer (Czech Based)


We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support the migration of existing BI solutions from on-premise Microsoft SQL Server to Microsoft Fabric. The role requires hands-on experience with Fabric components and strong expertise in data modeling, transformation, and semantic layer design.

The successful candidate will work independently, while also collaborating with the core project team on architecture definition, feature development, and quality assurance.
Location: Czech Republic (on-site presence required)
Allocation: Part-time to full-time (based on availability)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: OSVC / ICO
Language: English
Duration: Initial contract with possible extension

Project Scope:
  • Migration of database tables from on-prem Microsoft SQL Server to Fabric
  • Migration of semantic models from SSAS to Fabric
  • Design and implementation of the new Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum layers)
  • Internal testing and documentation of migrated solutions
  • Development of new features and enhancements across the data stack

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric: Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Notebooks (SparkSQL)
  • Advanced knowledge of T-SQL
  • Good understanding of Power BI / Fabric semantic models and DAX
  • Experience with PySpark
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for versioning and deployment

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Azure Log Analytics
  • Experience with metadata-driven development
  • Knowledge of SSAS Tabular models
  • DAX performance tuning
  • Power BI reports development
