Our Opportunity
GPJ is hiring a Director of Project Management to join our growing team!
This role is on-site, requiring you to report to our Las Vegas office location a minimum of 5 days per week.
Your Role
You are the Director of Project Management & Fabrication, responsible for leading and coordinating a fabrication team across various projects. Your goal is to ensure you deliver the highest quality results while maximizing your margins. To achieve this, you lead by example, embrace innovative construction methods, and strive to be an industry leader. You lead both the Project Management team and the shop team in your facility.
In your role, you have a wide range of additional responsibilities that contribute to the success of projects and the growth of your team. These responsibilities include managing, training, and motivating your Project Management & Shop teams, as well as collaborating closely with the Creative and Account Management teams at the early stages of each project. You also maintain regular communication with the Account Management and Integrated Production teams to facilitate smooth estimating and client services relationships. Assigning Project Managers to oversee all projects within your facility and monitoring and adjusting workloads among your departmental personnel are essential tasks. You oversee the financial tracking of all projects managed by your team, providing early insights into any negative variances and offering solutions to address challenges in projects. Additionally, you assist with Estimating oversight and sign-off for major fabrication projects.
You collaborate closely with Fabrication Leadership on staffing-related issues, conduct annual performance reviews for the Project Management Team, and organize GPJ Training seminars on Fabrication for GPJ Staff. You provide leadership, direction, and guidance to less experienced individuals, regardless of their department, and ensure that time entries are accurately recorded and approved for both your team and yourself according to the schedule. When required, you travel to major shows to supervise significant fabrication efforts, improve delivery scheduling, and promote onsite collaboration between Fabrication and Integrated Production.

- Knowledge of building and construction standards and terminology.
- Ability to read/understand engineering drawings and knowledge CAD/CAM manufacturing and fabrication.
- Ability to teach and develop new talent.
- Firm understanding of Project Management methodology.
- Familiarity with interior and exterior building materials and fabrication techniques.
- Drive, Determination and Persistence in guiding numerous personnel on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Computer Skills; Fluent in Google Docs and Sheets (Word and Excel).
- Exceptional Time Management Skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Clear understanding of financial terminology relating to margins, mark up calculations, and estimating formulas.
- Oversight and implementation of GPJ Safety program.

Your Experience
Experience & Education
- 8-10 years of previous industry / agency experience.
- 4 Year College Degree in Construction Management Event Management/Business Administration, Hospitality, Communications, or equivalent experience.
Travel & Mobility
- Ability to travel 25%
- Ability to work irregular hours in addition to normal business hours, to include nights, weekends and holidays as needed
