Duties/Responsibilities:
- Classify and codify documents according to a specified system. Assign cross-indexing numbers if the subject matter should be classified and filed under more than one heading.
- Place material in electronic media such as mainframe computer, CD-ROM, or in storage file cabinets, drawers, boxes, or special filing cases. Prepare catalogs of documentation and locate and remove material from files when requested.
- Keep records of material removed and trace missing materials. May revise the coding system to improve code usage.
- May involve word processing tasks to support documentation management.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure proper documentation management and accessibility.
- Observe loading of trucks and cross checking material accuracy/deficiency of pallet construction.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using documentation management software and Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional coursework or certification in documentation management or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in documentation or clerical role.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require physical activities such as lifting, moving materials by hand or using basic materials handling equipment.
- This role may involve working in various environments, including office settings and storage facilities.
- Employee will be exposed to various temperature swings from an office environment to a refrigerated temperature of 35-45 degrees F.
