Job Description - Early Childhood Education Accreditation Consultant/School of Education & Professional Studies

Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill Early Childhood Education Accreditation Consultant/School of Education, University Assistant position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City.  Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits.

We invite applications from candidates who commit to working closely with university faculty, staff, and administrators to attain the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs for the Early Childhood Education Program at Eastern.

Department: School of Education & Professional Studies

Position: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Accreditation Consultant for the Early Childhood Education Program

Core Duties:

1. Communicate and collaborate with faculty, staff, administrators, and external accreditation specialists regarding accreditation requirements/recommendations.
2. Collect data and supporting documentation on the ECE program to submit as evidence for accreditation.
3. Develop detailed written reports of evidence gathered.
4. Attend all accreditation-related meetings with the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) and NAEYC.
5. Complete ongoing accreditation training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in early childhood education and/or related field. 
• Experience in research processes, such as data collection and analytics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preference will be given to those who have worked in a higher education environment.
• Preference will be given to those who have experience in higher education accreditation processes, such as NAEYC Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs.
• Preference will be given to those with technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Webex/TEAMS, and other required platforms.
• Experience in quantitative data organization and analysis, with proficiency in running a statistical program, is preferred.

Required Professional Skills:

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring all aspects of projects are completed meticulously.
• Capable of planning, scheduling, and executing projects to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion.
• Demonstrates initiative and can work independently without close supervision.

Schedule: Part-Time Position—Scheduling is Flexible—Hybrid (On-Campus and Remote)

Salary: Grant Funded University Assistant Position--$20-$25 Per Hour
