Job Description - Electrocardiograph (ECG) Technician

Adelphi is seeking Electrocardiograph (ECG) Technicians to provide services at a facility in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidates will be responsible for performing electrocardiograms (ECGs) on patients to assist in diagnosing heart conditions. They will perform electrocardiography tests, including resting ECG, exercise stress tests, and ambulatory ECG monitoring for both inpatient and outpatient patient populations, in compliance with established policies and regulations.

Requirements:
• Certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT).
• BLS/ACLS (AHA)

Responsibilities:
• Operate and monitor electrocardiographic equipment to perform specialized examinations; resting ECG, exercise stress testing, ambulatory ECG monitoring.
• Evaluate ECG test results, adjusting equipment as necessary to obtain accurate results.
• Communicate with physicians regarding abnormal results and provide updates on patient progress.
• Ensure safe, comfortable, and respectful care for patients during testing, monitoring blood pressure and heart rate as needed.
• Maintain patient health records in the appropriate systems in compliance with confidentiality and security regulations (HIPAA).
• Assist in maintaining and repairing ECG equipment, ensuring it is functional and calibrated correctly.
• Assist in managing patient schedules and inventory for supplies.
• Respond to ECG service requests, providing on-call support as needed.
• Provide patient education about the ECG testing process, ensuring patient cooperation and reducing anxiety.
• Follow all applicable regulations regarding infection control, workplace safety, and the handling of sensitive health information.
• Any other duties as assigned.
