Endoscopy Technician

• Conducts preventative maintenance on equipment according to center procedures; may perform minor repairs as necessary; advises appropriate staff members of equipment malfunctions.
  
• Maintains endoscopic and laboratory equipment in a clean and orderly manner; disinfects equipment and accessories according to center procedures.
  
• Under the direction of physician or registered nurse, assists in performing endoscopic procedures such as biopsies, brushings, washings, dilations, polypectomies, labels specimens, and assists nurse in monitoring patient's condition. *
  
• Delivers specimens to appropriate locations. *
  
• Ensures procedure rooms and charts are maintained with necessary supplies; restocks as necessary. *
  
• Maintains work area and procedure rooms in a neat, clean and orderly manner according to departmental procedures.
  
• Performs related duties as required or assigned.
  
• Works in procedure rooms and in the scope reprocessing room, utilizing scope reprocessing washers
  
• Maintain a high level of infection control awareness
  
• Helps with all of end of day duties including but not limited to cleaning, organizing, stocking supplies, etc.
  

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

• Certified Endoscopy Technician
  
• 5+ years of sterile processing experience
  
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
  
• Formal training as operating room technician or Endoscopy Technician (preferred)
  
• Clinical experience as Operating Room Technician or Endoscopy Technician (preferred)
