English Language Teacher in Chattanooga, TN

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring English Language Teachers to provide in-person lessons to our clients.

Job Information:

Ref: 188122

Student: 1 adult

Location: Chattanooga, TN 37405 – near Clumpies Ice Cream Co. on 26 Frazier Ave B

Availability: Fridays between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm (student is not flexible)

Preferred start date: ASAP

Lesson Frequency: Once per week

Lesson Duration: 1 hour per lesson

Current language level: Advanced (teacher should assess)

Languages spoken at home: Native Spanish, also speaks French

Time zone: Eastern Standard Time (EST)
 

Student’s goals (summary):

• Establish fluent conversations with native speakers

• Improve grammar skills

• Learn common phrases used by native speakers

• Focus on pronunciation and understanding local accents

• Become familiar with slang and cultural expressions

• Expand vocabulary for safety & emergency info, job-related situations, and daily life (ordering at restaurants, doctor visits, public transportation, interviews, holidays, making friends, cooking)

Student interests:
Cooking, music, and learning new things

Responsibilities:

• Deliver practical, conversational lessons tailored to real-life situations

• Integrate cultural aspects into teaching

• Provide structured learning with clear goals

• Adjust lessons based on student progress

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in English

• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or related field

• Minimum of two years of teaching experience

• Ability to create a supportive and motivating learning environment
