Fitness Instructor - Contracted

Lead, instruct, and motivate individuals or groups in exercise activities at Saint Mary’s College. Engage the SMC Community in exercise routines and healthy living programs to help them reach their individual goals. Sessions offered to our community would include: Spin/Cycling, Kickboxing, Step, Zumba or HIIT.

• Plan and execute weekly fitness classes
• Assist in special events related to fitness services
• Supporting the development and delivery of fitness programs and classes
• Assist in maintaining and improving the goals of our members by helping them reach their goals.
• Ensure the safety of clients during training sessions
• Conduct an initial assessment of participants in the fitness sessions and monitor appropriately
• Motivate all participants
• Attend to any injury or emergency appropriately
• Communicate with management and facility staff appropriately and respectfully 

• 2-3 Years Experience teaching group exercise classes
• One or more of the following:  Current Group Fitness Instructor Certification (NASM, ACE, or NSCA) and/or Current RYT, CYT or TT 200 Certification for Yoga
• Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
• Consistent weekly availability 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Current Personal Training Certificate
• Spin Instructor Certification
• HIIT Session Experience
