Job Description for GOC I



  • Supervises and coordinates administrative support functions within the circuit that are responsible for creating, maintaining, closing and purging files as well as archiving those files for storage and/or destruction; maintaining tracking logs; data entry into appropriate systems; preparing necessary paperwork for personnel actions; making travel arrangements and travel voucher preparation; maintaining inventory of supplies and ordering supplies as needed; processing expert witness and service fees, vendor procurement and requisition preparation.  Reviews progress to ensure tasks are being completed timely and accurately. 

  • Ensures support staff is cross-trained on document preparation, file maintenance, Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN), CLIP (Children’s Legal Services Information Program data entry and Children’s Legal Services (CLS) Metric responsibilities as directed by the Managing Attorney or CLS Leadership

  • Maintains accurate current knowledge of departmental procedures, regulations and policy affecting the CLS budget and fiscal activities; tracks current budget for salaries, expenses, and contracted services.

  • Assists the Managing Attorney/OMC/ Regional Director with all day-to-day duties and functions including maintain current calendar of meetings, staffings, hearings, trainings, etc.; track deadlines for projects, prioritize what is essential and necessary for the Managing Attorney to address and ensure that the Managing Attorney is informed about relevant situations which are important to the operations of the CLS office. Recommend changes or corrective actions when appropriate

  • Disseminates written and verbal information for CLS; works closely with the clerk of court, judiciary, private attorneys, court reporters, case management agencies, law enforcement, the public and clients. Returns phone calls and/or emails and provides information and resolution where appropriate.

  • Researches and gathers information circuit-wide, analyzes data gathered and draft reports in an organized manner as directed by the Managing Attorney.

  • Provides daily consultation and assistance to management and staff in the management and operation of the office. Consults with staff to resolve administrative and operational issues and problems.

  • Performs other related work in association with or as directed by the Regional Director, Managing Attorney, Attorney Supervisor, OMC and/or CLS Leadership.


The starting salary is $40,000 annually.
