Hardware & Software Technician

Business Technology Integrators (BTI) Government contracting company located in Upper Marlboro MD, We are seeking a qualified Field Support / Hardware & Software Server Technicians  to join our IT team. The technicians will be responsible for the physical relocation, setup, and support of IT equipment including servers, network hardware, and peripherals. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, and a commitment to delivering excellent field support service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Relocate, install, configure, and support servers and related IT hardware in accordance with project requirements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in field locations.

• Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance.

• Coordinate with network engineers and system administrators to support operational needs.

• Maintain documentation of system configurations, hardware inventory, and support activities.

• Follow safety and security protocols for handling and transporting equipment.

• Provide on-site and remote support to users as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience performing similar field or server support work.

• Completion of formal technical training such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, or similar), Cisco Certified Technician (CCT), or equivalent.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to lift and move IT equipment as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Technician).

• Experience supporting enterprise-level IT environments.

• Familiarity with data center best practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to [50 lbs] and perform physical tasks related to moving and installing IT equipment.
