Location: Harry S. Truman High School, 750 Baychester Ave, Bronx, NY 10475
Dates of Employment: September 25, 2025 – June 5, 2026
Schedule: Mondays–Fridays | 8:00 AM – 2:20 PM (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

What You’ll Do

As a Simply Ed Biology Teacher’s Assistant, you will:

• Support biology teachers in delivering meaningful, hands-on science lessons and lab activities.
• Provide one-on-one and small group academic support to students.
• Help manage classroom routines, labs, and foster an inclusive, safe environment.
• Assist with preparing lab materials, grading, and organizing classroom resources.
• Monitor student progress and share observations with the teacher.
• Collaborate with educators and staff to meet student needs.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
   

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are:

• Passionate about helping students learn and grow, especially in the sciences.
• Reliable, professional, and committed to showing up every day.
• Great communicators and collaborative team players.
• Experienced with children (formally or informally) — experience in schools preferred, but training is provided.
• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field.
• Able to adapt to different learning environments and student needs.
• Cleared (or eligible for clearance) through DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
