HSS / SDM Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–8+ years of experience in telecom/wireless core operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • HSS (Home Subscriber Server) in LTE networks
  • SDM / UDM (Unified Data Management) in 4G/5G environments
• Deep understanding of signaling protocols:
  • Diameter protocol (Cx, Sh, S6a, S6d, etc.)
  • SS7/MAP (legacy interworking – preferred)
• Experience with subscriber provisioning, authentication, and mobility management.
• Knowledge of telecom architecture: EPC (MME, SGW, PGW) and 5G Core (AMF, UDM).
• Familiarity with database systems (Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, or similar).
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong troubleshooting using logs, traces, and protocol analyzers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with vendor platforms such as:
  • Nokia HSS / SDM
• Exposure to virtualization and cloud-native deployments (NFV, containers, Kubernetes).
• Experience with private cloud or public cloud environments like Amazon Web Services.
• Understanding of 5G SBA (Service-Based Architecture).
• ITIL certification or strong incident/problem management background
