Input Technician Job Description                                              

Job Title:  Input Technician                                                                                                            

Reports To:  Input Specialist Lead

Position Status: Full-Time Seasonal

Compensation: $Min - 19.5 (DOE)

General Job Description: 

Assists Input Specialist Lead with pulling and prepping plugs for potting ensuring all noted criteria are met before approving young plant readiness based on WWNC Standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Pull liners for the potting team per potting sheets.


• Inspects, counts, consolidates liners filling the desired quantity for the potting team per potting sheets.


• Documents low plant counts and location pulled from on potting sheet


• Quality issues are reported to the Input Specialist Lead


• Prune/weed material if necessary


• Moves plugs to the final staging/finishing/conditioning area of similar environmental conditions to the final growing destination per Input Specialist Lead direction


• May assist other departments as needed

Skills and Knowledge

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent


• Working knowledge of Microsoft and Chrome utilities and strong math skills


• Knowledge of import regulations and practices


• Acute attention to detail, strong initiative, well-organized, prioritizes well, works well under pressure and sound judgment


• Excellent written and verbal communication, analysis and problem-solving skills


• Understands and supports company policy


• Strong understanding of plant identification and nomenclature

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Must be able to work long shifts in a stationary or seated position


• Must be able to ascend and descend stairs


• Must be able to walk across uneven terrain


• Must be able to lift 30 lbs.


• May experience extreme weather conditions in greenhouses or fields
