Insurance Examiner/NYC -3 month hybrid contract -to -hire

Are you detail\-oriented, analytical, and experienced in excess & surplus lines? We are seeking an experienced Insurance Examiner for a 3\-month contract\-to\-hire opportunity with a progressive and employee\-focused insurance brokerage.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate document processing for state placements.

• Summer Fridays remote
  


• Additional remote flexibility may be granted based on performance
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Examine incoming documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  


• Determine correct coverage and classification codes
  


• Verify eligibility for stamping in New York State
  


• Identify and resolve missing or incorrect information
  


• Communicate directly with brokers to obtain clarification
  


• Correct minor clerical errors with broker consent
  


• Determine proper suspense codes for returned unstamped items
  


• Apply official stamps in accordance with NY excess line laws
  


• Maintain organized monthly filing of affidavits
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years Property & Casualty or Commercial Lines experience
  


• Familiarity with Excess/Surplus Lines documentation and terminology
  


• Strong mathematical skills (premium percentage calculations required)
  


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  


• Proficiency in general office software and computer systems
  

Compensation & Potential Benefits Upon Conversion:

• Salary: $60,000–$65,000 (Non\-Exempt | Overtime Eligible)
