INTERNAL: Stipend Position - SSAT Tutor - ELA

We are looking for looking for an SSAT Tutor: ELA! Details of this stipend position can be found below.

Responsibilities:

• Hold tutoring sessions for groups of 10-15 students for 1 hour a week (3:45 PM - 4:45 PM)


• Tutoring Sessions to begin week of 11/12 on Wednesdays and Fridays, 3:45 - 4:45


• Use the SSAT book to focus instruction lessons on the ELA sessions of the SAT - including reading comprehension, verbal reasoning (synonyms & analogies), and the writing sample


• Instruct students on time management, multiple choice strategies, context clue usage, and how to approach challenging passages and vocabulary


• Use direct instruction and exercises to expand the students' vocabulary


• Guide students in analyzing complex texts, identifying main ideas, making inferences, and understanding tone, purpose, and structure


• Help students develop a positive mindset toward the test by building confidence


• Monitor student progress through progress-monitoring assessments and adjusting strategies as needed
  


• Start Date: November 12, 2025


• End Date: December 12, 2025 (4 week duration).
