Job Description - Jt456 - Occupational Health Nurse


QUALITY CONSULTING GROUP, a leader in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices, and manufacturing industry, is looking for a talented, highly motivated and enthusiastic to join our team. In this role, you’ll work with a highly enthusiastic team, contributing in a world-class manufacturing industry in Puerto Rico & USA.

Responsibilities: 
  • Provide nursing assessment and interventions within the scope of practice of the practitioner. Assessment includes obtaining a complete history, performing a physical assessment noting deviations from the norm, and making a nursing assessment. Interventions include recommending specialist consultations and recommending medical limitations or restrictions to activity, all within the Clinical Guidelines approved by the site or 3PV physician.
  • Provide medical surveillance support (testing and tracking) to NA Employees and designated contract employees at designated company sites.
  • Provide first aid/initial treatment and triage to NA Employees and contractors who experience work-related injuries.
  • Perform EKG ’s, PFT’s , respirator fit testing, vision testing, audiograms, phlebotomy, glucose testing, urine collection for UA and drug screens as directed.
  • Collaborate with company Occupational Health Nursing Staff across North America
  • Lead and participate in special projects assigned by North America Integrated Health Services Manager and Global Integrated Health Services team.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively cross functionally with other company Businesses.
  • Participate as a member of the Internal company EHS&S Audit team as directed by North America Integrated Health Services Manager.
  • Ensure that all NA Integrated Health Services Standards, Guideline, and process are implemented at all sites as appropriate.
  • Virtual back-up clinician as needed for the Integrated Health Services for Indianapolis Global Business center and remote sites as directed by North America Integrated Health Services Manager.
  • Manage Procurement needs for company Integrated Health Services under the direction of the North America Integrated Health Services Manager, company Global Medical Director
  • Shall actively seek opportunities for growth in this role.
  • Actively participate in internal Integrated Health Services Meetings i.e., 1:1 meeting with North America Integrated Health Services Manager, Global Standards and Guidelines meeting, work comp meetings, STD meetings and NA Team meetings.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent desirable
  • 3 to 5 years experience in Nursing.
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing or willing to obtain.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR Certification required; Instructor Certification preferred.
  • CAOHC Certification Course
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, toxicology, health promotion, lifestyle risk factors and ergonomics, especially as related to the occupational environments is essential.
  • Specific training in physical skills assessment and in the theory and implementation of specific medical testing as expected. 
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and EKG testing is also required.
  • Able to use Microsoft tools, Electronic medical record, and general computer use.
  • Available to remote work to Aibonito & Ponce.
  • Position is full-time, but the client is open to hire part-time.
  • Available to work all shifts, weekends and Holidays.
    • 40 hours/week, with primary work schedule being days (Mon -Sun).
