Position Overview:
Engineering & Inspection Services, LLC (EIS) is currently seeking a qualified
Level II NDE Technician to join our growing team. This role involves performing Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) using multiple techniques including Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT/UTT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Visual Inspection (VT) in various industrial environments. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled, certified in multiple NDE disciplines, and capable of delivering accurate inspections in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform Level II inspections in RT, UT/UTT, PT, MT, and VT in accordance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Set up, calibrate, and operate NDE equipment for various testing methods.
- Interpret and evaluate results based on applicable standards, codes, and job specifications.
- Accurately document and report all inspection results, including preparing detailed inspection reports and maintaining proper records.
- Ensure all work is conducted safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards by the site.
- Maintain and care for all NDE tools and equipment.
- Follow company and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with clients, supervisors, and team members to ensure clear communication and successful project execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Level II Certification in the following methods:
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT/UTT)
- Penetrant Testing (PT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
- Visual Testing (VT)
- Documented classroom and OJT hours per ASNT or equivalent requirements.
- Valid TWIC card required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must pass a hair follicle drug screen and urine test.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of NDE standards, codes, and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented, dependable, and committed to high-quality work.
- Knowledge of plant operations is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in a variety of physical environments.
- Must be able to wear full PPE including FR clothing, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and respiratory protection if required.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to remain physically active throughout an entire shift.
Working Environment:
- Exposure to heights, varying temperatures, hazardous materials, and confined spaces.
- Frequent travel to various job sites is required.
- Work schedule may include extended hours, weekends, night shifts, and turnaround periods depending on project needs.
