Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Position Summary

Provide pre-employment, annual, and fitness-for-duty psychological evaluations for VA Police Officers in accordance with VHA Directive 0730 and federal employment regulations. Assess psychological fitness for armed law enforcement duties and prepare clear, defensible recommendation reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structured clinical interviews

• Administer and interpret standardized psychological assessments

• Evaluate suitability, stability, and functional job requirements

• Prepare concise, legally defensible evaluation reports

• Provide unequivocal fitness recommendations

• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, Privacy Act, and VA security standards

Required Qualifications

• PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology

• Active, unrestricted U.S. psychologist license

• Experience conducting law enforcement or public safety psychological evaluations

• Knowledge of ADA, HIPAA, and employment law

• Strong report-writing and risk assessment skills
