Job Summary:
The Lifeguard ensures the safety of swimmers, monitors pool activities, and responds to emergencies. This role requires a responsible individual with strong swimming skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all pool users.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Monitor pools to ensure adherence to rules and safety regulations.
• Administer first aid, CPR, and AED techniques as needed.
• Assist with swim lessons and ensure restricted access for residents.
• Perform water quality tests and maintain pool cleanliness.
• Respond to emergency situations with calmness and professionalism.

• Red Cross lifeguard certifications (through the City of Reno or an equivalent provider).
• Strong swimming skills, including the ability to tread water and complete timed swims.
• Excellent observation and interpersonal communication skills.

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Certification costs refundable upon successful completion and hire.

• Ability to swim 300 yards continuously.
• Must tread water for two minutes using only legs.
• Complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds.

Work Schedule:
This seasonal position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hours vary based on seasonal demands, with longer shifts during summer peak periods and shorter shifts as the season winds down.
