Job Description - Loss Prevention Representative


SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Coordinating the flow of member information relating to losses or potential losses to ensure credit union is not at risk. 

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Work negative share queue daily. Including calling members, payment plans, closures, and adding charge offs to board reports.
  • Research and resolve member concerns regarding negative accounts, returned items. 
  • Research and resolve potential fraud situations including talking with the member for fraud determination.
  • Research and resolve transactions promptly through other electronic medians for fraud which could include Fed-Now, Real Time Payments (RTP), Online situations, etc.
  • Answer and create files for new garnishments the same day as received.
  • Ensure legal filings are handled promptly protecting the interest of the credit union.
  • Recommend fraud prevention measures.
  • Assist the Loss Prevention team with daily reports.
  • Complete work log daily.
  • Interface with authorities requesting member information; ensuring compliance to the Right to Financial Privacy Act.
  • Institute all activities that assist with loss prevention objectives.
  • Coordinate and train loss prevention policies.
  • Back up all positions covering employee’s duties.
  • Performs other duties as directed or needed.

Requirements

  • The ability to prioritize tasks and goals, completing the most important and urgent items.

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING

High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of experience in a financial institution. Prefer one-year experience in the Member Services area as well as previous teller experience.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Starting hourly rate - $22.75+ depending on experience
