Job Title: Machinist (Deburring)
Location: Camarillo, CA 93012
Shift: 1st Shift – 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
Duration: 6-month contract

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Machinist with deburring experience to join our team on a 6-month contract. The role involves operating production machines, working with small parts, and performing deburring, cutting, shaping, drilling, and forming operations. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets while contributing to lean initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs.

Essential Functions

• Perform simple setups and operate machines for repetitive operations such as deburring, drilling, reaming, cutting, and forming.

• Deburr small machined parts, removing burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, or other irregularities.

• Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, gages, comparators, and magnification equipment.

• Perform operations such as tapping, chamfering, countersinking, counterboring, and spot-facing to close tolerances.

• Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts per documentation.

• Make minor machine adjustments and report any issues in machine functioning.

• Maintain equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability.

• Accurately document statistical process control (SPC) data as required.

• Actively participate in lean initiatives by identifying areas for improvement.

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety rules.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of machining or related experience, or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.

• Deburring experience required; experience working with small parts preferred.

• Ability to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.

• Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics (including trigonometry).

• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

• Manual dexterity and close vision required for detailed work.
