Manicurist

We are seeking a compassionate, licensed Manicurist to provide high-quality nail care services to our residents at a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). This part-time position will primarily serve Independent Living residents, with additional services provided to Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care residents as needed.

The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and experienced in working with seniors. This role is perfect for someone passionate about enhancing the well-being and dignity of older adults through personal grooming and attentive service.

This is a part-time position, 2 days per week (16+ hours) reporting to the Director of Salon Services at Santa Marta Retirement.

Responsibilities:

• Provide manicures and nail care services (polishing, shaping, cuticle care) to residents.
   
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable salon environment.
   
• Follow infection control protocols and proper sanitation of tools and workstations.
   
• Accommodate the individual needs of residents with mobility, cognitive, or physical limitations.
   
• Maintain accurate records of services provided.
   
• Collaborate with nursing staff for scheduling or special care requirements in healthcare settings.
   
• Uphold resident privacy, dignity, and preferences in all interactions.

Requirements:

• Current Kansas Manicurist or Nail Technician License required.
   
• Professional liability insurance required.
   
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred, ideally in senior living, healthcare, or salon settings.
   
• Background check and drug screening required.
   
• Negative TB skin test required prior to start date.
   
• Ability to work independently, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
   
• Understanding of elder care best practices and sensitivity to the needs of aging populations.
   

Work Environment:

• Services are provided in on-site salon space for Independent Living, and occasionally in resident rooms or care areas within Skilled Nursing and Memory Support units.
   
• Must be able to transport tools and products between locations within the community.
