JOB TITLE: Mechanical Assembler

DEPARTMENT: Assembly

REPORTING TO: Supervisor of Hand Assembly 

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION: 

To perform light to complex mechanical assembly and electronic assembly tasks as assigned. This includes the repair, assembly or disassembly of various devices. Some Hand Soldering will be required.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

• Screwdrivers, wrenches, power drills, rivet guns etc.
• Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards.
• Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Inspect and test completed units.
• Interpret process instructions, blueprints/drawings and schematics.
• Adjust and grind down parts if necessary.
• Position and fasten units to assemblies and subassemblies.
• Fasten cables and wiring.
• Solder electrical components.
• The ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
• Test finished product.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma 
• High level of communications skills

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Minimum 2years experience in the machine and equipment manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work Plant to another.
• The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check and education verification as outlined by Libra.
• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
