Our mission is to provide for the health and wellness needs of the underserved of Oakland County through the provision of comprehensive, integrated primary, behavioral health, and dental care. Position Description
Reporting to the Manager, Health Informatics, the Medical Records Specialist is an essential member of our high performing team as the organizations point person for Medical records received and requested. Duties include: responsibility for receiving, reviewing, routing, and properly storing a wide variety of patient health information and documents within the electronic medical record. This staff member will also coordinate requests for patient health records, generating and preparing copies of requested information, and assist the informatics, clinical and quality teams in maintaining health records and extracting health information as needed. The Medical Records Specialist must possess leadership skills and a strong working knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and regulations, as well as develop excellent capabilities with the NextGen electronic health record system.
This position is full-time, Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:00pm. This is a temporary position for 60-90 days.
